One email with the template as a Word file, which also opens in Google Docs. Nothing else.
Write this last. If an investor reads nothing else, this line should still tell them how the month went.
Same metrics, same order, every month. Investors compare month to month, so a metric that disappears gets noticed.
Two or three wins. A signed customer with a contract value beats "great momentum".
Investors trust the update that names a problem early. Say what happened and what you changed.
The part investors can act on. "Intros to heads of operations at retail chains with 20+ outlets" gets replies. "Any help welcome" does not.
One line each. Include departures: investors hear about them anyway.
Name the investor who made the intro. It is the cheapest way to get the next one.
